March 16th 11th Grade College and Career Prep Conference

Through the Career Development Conference program, 11th grade students will learn the
fundamentals of interviewing skills. Students will participate in a series of in-school sessions
that will introduce them to the fundamentals of preparing a resume, and how to present
themselves in an interview. These sessions culminate in a full conference day that will allow
students the opportunity to participate in mock interviews. Along the way, students will learn
about body language, effective communication, and conveying their message succinctly.

Mock Interviews: During the conference day, students will present their resume and participate
in a mock interview for 10 minutes where they will be evaluated on the quality and content of
their resume, appropriateness of interview conduct, and effective communication skills. We
would like for Rotary Club volunteers to serve as interviewers, evaluate student performance,
and provide in-the-moment feedback to each student. As a volunteer, you can serve for a single
session, or you can spend all day with us!
