Jeris Gaston Addresses 2020 Rotary International Assembly

Rotary Club of Birmingham member Jeris Gaston, current VP of New Generations, was invited to be a presenter at the 2020 Rotary International Assembly held last week in San Diego, California. The Assembly is a gathering of all the Rotary District Governors from around the globe, representing all of the 35,000+ Rotary clubs.

Jeris was invited to speak on the topic of “Engaging Members through the Power of Connectivity.”

She has a long connection to Rotary. Twenty years ago Jeris attended Interact meetings at her high school and then applied for and received a university scholarship from a Rotary Club. Then a few years later, Jeris applied for and received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to attend Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland for a graduate degree. Afterward, Jeris joined the then-new Rotaract Club of Birmingham and before aging out, was elected president of that club. She then transitioned to becoming a member of our Rotary Club of Birmingham. Now, while serving as a board member of our club, she also serves on a Rotary International committee on Rotary-Rotaract relationships worldwide.
