RCB Honors Members Serving Over 50 Years
During the May 14th Rotary Club of Birmingham (RCB) meeting, President Bruce Rogers honored members who joined the club fifty or more years ago. Notably, every member of the group is a Paul Harris Fellow and the contributions they each have made in their professional, civic and service endeavors extend far beyond their service to RCB.
Those recognized include Jim Sulzby and Lee Walthall, who joined in 1974; Sonny Fowlkes, who became a member in 1973; Past President Eddie Friend, who joined in 1971; Past Presidents Hartwell Davis and Jamie French, who both joined in 1970; Past President Billy Smyer, who became a member in 1965; and the club's longest-serving member, Past President Allen Rushton, who joined in 1962.
We thank each of these members for their remarkable, dedicated service. We also remember George McMillan and Dick Womack, who were members for over 50 years and passed away this year.
