Rotarians Welcome Rotary International President R. Gordon R. McINally to Rotary Trail

RCB President Gordon Martin, Executive Director Dan Stephens, Rotarians Jane Reed Ross, Cheryl Morgan, and Tom Carruthers joined past Rotary International President Mark Maloney, District Governor Mary Grace Evans and other representatives to welcome Rotary International President R. Gordon R. McInally.

On Friday, February 23rd, representatives from the Rotary Club of Birmingham and District 6860 welcomed Rotary International President R. Gordon R. McInally to Birmingham.

He visited Rotary Trail, RCB's centennial gift to the City of Birmingham. Rotarians Jane Reed Ross, who served as lead landscape architect for the project, and Cheryl Morgan, who co-chaired the project committee, provided an overview of the efforts to transform an abandoned railroad cut into a four-block urban park that has catalyzed economic development in the surrounding downtown area.

The group also visited Rotary projects installed at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, including the Friendship Bell, given by the Osaka Rotary Club in Japan in partnership with the Rotary Club of Shades Valley.
