Rotary and CAMP Welcome a New Class of Birmingham Merit Scholars

Birmingham Merit Scholars students following the ceremony

On Tuesday, October 21st, the Rotary Club of Birmingham (RCB) welcomed Birmingham City Schools Juniors participating in the College Admissions Made Possible (CAMP) Merit Scholars program, their families and school administrators to The Harbert Center for an induction ceremony to kick off the year. The program is underwritten by the RCB Foundation. RCB will welcome the impressive young people back to engage in mock interview sessions with Rotarians in the spring.

RCB members are committed to vocational service, which involves serving others through one’s profession, practicing high ethical standards and promoting vocational relationships. Rotarians, as business leaders, share skills and expertise through their vocations and inspire others in the process. During Vocational Service Month in October, RCB members donated professional clothing items to benefit the CAMP Merit Scholars.

Thanks to VP of Vocational Service Alison Grizzle, Past President Jon Blankenship and Rotarian Alan Rogers for assisting with a great evening for these young people.
