President Jeff Stone and Rotarian Margi Ingram with Dwight Sandlin
This week, the Rotary Club of Birmingham (RCB) welcomed Dwight Sandlin, Chairman and Co-Founder of Signature Homes, which builds new construction homes in Louisianna, Alabama and Tennessee. He highlighted over 100 communities created by the company across the three states, with a goal to deliver beautifully crafted homes with an enduring sense of community that transforms a home into a lifestyle. Sandlin shared insights on the housing market and trends that have affected the sales of existing and new homes, explaining that low interest rates during the pandemic drove rapid home price increases, while higher mortgage rates have since made affordability a challenge for buyers resulting in limited housing inventory and homeowners who are reluctant to sell. He provided a favorable outlook for the Birmingham market, citing stable employment and long-term economic resilience despite ongoing affordability pressures.
