Rotarian Samantha Williams reads to preschool students at Epic Elementary School
Members of the Rotary Club of Birmingham (RCB) recently read to students in preschool classes at Central Park, Epic and Glen Iris Elementary Schools through the Rotary Reads program in partnership with Birmingham City Schools (BCS) and United Way's SuccessBySix. Over the course of the school year, RCB volunteers will visit every Pre-K classroom in all BCS elementary schools. Thanks to Rotarians Nancy Goedecke, Cindy Martin, Cat Outzen, Leisa Smith, Yolanda Sullivan, Dan Williams and Samantha Williams who volunteered as readers this month.
RCB has been committed to supporting preschool learning in Birmingham City Schools for over 20 years through our Preschool Learning Initiative. RCB has invested over $1 million to date, with a major focus on reading readiness.
